A Word That Defines Me

tem•per•a•men•tal
[tem-per-uh-men-tl, -pruh-men-, -per-men-]

–adjective
1.
having or exhibiting a strongly marked, individual temperament.
2.
moody, irritable, or sensitive: a temperamental artist.
3.
given to erratic behavior; unpredictable.
4.
of or pertaining to temperament; constitutional: temperamental differences.

Origin: 1640–50;
temperament + -al 1
Related forms:
tem•per•a•men•tal•ly, adverb

Synonyms:
2. excitable, volatile, emotional.

I describe myself as temperamental for the simple fact that it doesn't take much to agitate or anger me. To me temperamental means that someone is on edge at all time and is ready to snap at any minute. I honestly feel like that a good percentage of the time. Luckily it hasn't gotten me into too much or a significant amount of trouble.

Today In History

This week in history we spent our time discussing some of the first explorers to reach the Americas from Europe. Some of those people include Christopher Columbus, John Cabot, and Amerigo Vespucci who America was named after. We were broken up into groups and had to recreate the trade route by constructing a map of the world and showing what country used what route. At the end of the week we were given a solo project that involved making a brochure that summarized a prominent figure in Chapter 13. I chose Christopher Columbus for mine and finshed the project this Sunday.

Today In Math

This week the majority of our time was spent going over our practice profiency exam packets. I didn't spend too much time on it considering I am a credit deficient sophomore and won't be taking the exam until next year. Honestly I didn't pay as much attention to the questions and answers on the exam packet as I should have.

I just thought this was pretty funny

Mike Vick

Now I know most people don't think of Michael Dwayne Vick of as an Atlanta Falcon or even a professional football player but the reality is he is still on the reserved list. Of course he will either be traded (which is a way better business decision) or released to free agency considering the superstar quarterback position has been filled by 1st round draft pick and rookie of the year Matt Ryan. Now I think it's highly ironic that someone with the highest salary ever of an NFL player (until Albert Haynesworth recently) has become one of the most shunned athletes (not considering the many baseball players who can just apologize for the ultimate betrayal of MLB *cough cough Alex Rodriguez*) in recent history. To see how this transpired lets go back to April 25, 2007. The media finds out about Vick's 15-acre "slaughterhouse" and it becomes the biggest football scandal since Ray Lewis was indicted on murder (and became Super Bowl MVP the following year). It was found out that the quarterback(with the most rushing yards ever by a QB) was running a 6 year dog fighting kennel. Of course he lost all his endorsements before actually being convicted in true Chris Brown fashion and was ultimately sentenced to 23 months in federal prison. Now I'm not justifying his actions but lets also go back to around the same time when a "battered" woman shot her sleeping husband in the back and was acquitted. Even T.I., a 7-time felon' (who is my second favorite rapper) got one year in JAIL for possessing about 10 semi-automatic and automatic firearms. I guess what I'm saying is, coming from where I'm from, dog fighting is quite common and over looked as immoral and someone who may have had a similar lifestyle to mine may have been caught up in stupidity. Mike should be out of prison this summer and should at the worst be a free agent. Whatever team he may play for I hope he puts up the same or even better numbers than his prime years just as a screw you to PETA (and ASPCA).

Right now the Atlanta Hawks have a winning record of 31-22 and are 4th in the eastern conference. Just a month ago the Atlanta Falcons finished an 11-5 playoff appearance season bouncing back from a not so surprising 4-12 season after losing a star quaterback and going through media scrutiny. Basically what I'm saying is that Atlanta is finally looking to have a lineup of respectable teams, a first in a long time. With the Hawks surprising everybody and taking the now world champion Boston Celtics to a 7 game playoff series(and nearly beating them), and the Falcons being led by a rookie(player of the year) quarterback and rookie headcoach(of the year), both teams look to become dominant franchises.
